Employ BR is an integral part of the Workforce Development System designed to provide an integrated workforce delivery environment for our customers – both employers and job seekers.

Employ BR is responsible for programs and services within East Baton Rouge Parish which are funded under Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014.

Employ BR partners with federal, state, local governments, colleges, schools, and community and faith based organizations in the delivery of comprehensive workforce development services.

Our Goal

Employ BR, Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) 21, is committed to developing a sustainable labor force to meet the needs of industry and citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014

On July 22, 2014, President Barack Obama signed WIOA into law. WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
