Employer Based Training

On-the-JOB Training

Is your company facing challenges finding qualified candidates? Our training programs may provide the perfect on-site solutions for you.

Customized Training

Grant funding may be available for specialized training to offset the cost of raising the skill levels of new hires or certain existing employees.

Work Experience Program

This WEP program is ideal for job seekers who have little or no work experience and is designed to provide behavioral competencies in real-world settings.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING

OJT is a component that we offer that allows qualified employers to receive a wage subsidy reimbursement for providing on-the-job skills training to job seekers who are eligible (enrolled) members. This program is intended to assist employers who have difficulty filling job openings through traditional means (i.e. internet, newspaper/trade journals, or standard job order postings).

Training is available to participants who have been screened, assessed, and formally referred for hire. The expressed purpose of this training is to provide marketable skills that will enable participating members to obtain long-term employment in order to establish or maintain self-sufficiency.

CUSTOMIZED TRAINING

Eligible participants under customized training may include newly hired employees that meet particular eligibility requirements established under the various funding grants we can offer. If it can be determined and confirmed by EmployBR that incumbent or newly hired employees are not earning a self-sufficient wage, they may qualify for this program.

A customized training agreement may be initiated with the commitment of the Employer or a group of Employers. This is training designed to help an Employer retain newly hired or incumbent employees, with grant funding available for 50% of the costs and the Employer responsible for the remaining 50%.

WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

Our Work Experience Program (WEP) provides intensive services under our direction. It is a planned, structured learning experience that takes place in a workplace setting for a limited period of time. The prospective employee may be paid or unpaid and the experience must be clearly distinguishable from public service employment.

Work experience functions as a workplace-values activity for the acquisition of behavioral competencies in specific occupations or job skills. It is an excellent strategy for participants who have little or no work history because it offers an environment where an employer can offer a meaningful experience. Although the employer may also receive some benefit from the work experience in the form of work being done (or they may benefit by the recruitment a potential new employee), the primary goal is to benefit the participant.

BECOME A TRAINING PROVIDER

Mandates from the Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDB), in conjunction with the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC), identify training service providers whose performance qualifies them to receive funds to train job seekers. If you are interested in becoming a training provider, you must complete the application process for eligibility.
